So just this Tuesday, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to meet with and photograph Ottawa’s Mayor Jim Watson about the upcoming book of Ottawa, with Wingd’s own Zainab Muse.
Here are some teaser shots from the meeting, look for the rest in the book released July 1st!
So I’m very excited to announce that I’ve been working with Wingd Ottawa (https://www.wingd.ca/) to publish a book on Ottawa this April!
As a part of the project, I’ve been photographing portraits of people in Ottawa to tell their stories. It’s been a incredible journey, I feel very lucky to know some incredible brilliant people and it’s very special to help them share their own story.
If you are interested in telling your story of what Ottawa means to you, feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here are some of the portraits so far!
As a neuroscientist in training, I spend a lot of my time thinking about brains. So, in line with my current series redesigning body systems to emphasis their beauty, I made a watercolor on paper of the brain.
If you look closely, you can pick out the cerebellum, the pituitary gland, the pons, and kind of the corpus callosum
Photos taken at sunset in the Albertan foothills. The scenery this close to the mountains is always breathtaking, and the lighting turned out fantastic!
Beautiful wedding with a beautiful couple at the Glenmore Sailing Club! Here are some samples from their big day:
I had the honour of photographing Theresa and Paul’s beautiful wedding. It was a lovely day, with a lovely couple! Here are some sample photographs:
At a shoot with Alex this weekend I experimented with combining two of my favourite things: art and photography!
The painting done is inspired by one of my favourite painters, Leonid Afremov. Done with children’s face paint.
Shoot with the lovely Alex.
Erin and Dave had an absolutely stunning wedding in the Rockies at Fernie ski resort. It was an incredible day, with an incredible, very happy couple! Here are some photos from behind the scenes, as a sample of the great day:
Taken as an assignment for the Charlatan newspaper, I got to meet the lovely Rebecca. Wearing a mustache to raise funds and awareness for Movember!

Aaaand we’re back!
Sorry for the long hiatus, my camera was broken for quite some time and I just recently got it fixed! So here we go.
Beautiful hat paired with leather leggings and dark lipstick.
This fall I had a photoshoot with the lovely Anna, and previously only posted a single photo from it. Here is the rest of the shoot, I could not have asked for a better model!
This last Friday, November 8th, the hip hop artist Shad performed at Ritual Night Club in Ottawa.
He is a very talented performance with an amazing stage presence. The club was absolutely packed, and filled with people who had seen his show many times before. Energy was high, the music was amazing, and the encore freestyle was unforgettable.
Excellent review from the Scene Magazine: http://www.thescenemagazine.ca/shad-at-ritual-ottawa-live-review/#
Photos taken for the Charlatan Newspaper.
Hey readers! Sorry for a lack of posts lately, school has been somewhat crazy and unfortunately my camera is temporarily broken. So Ottawa Style is on a temporary hiatus, at least until I can fix my camera.
In the meantime, here is a watercolor done mostly to procrastinate from homework, based loosely off of a portrait in a magazine. By loosely, I mean the structure of the face was used but that it about all. It was really just a chance to experiment with watercolour paints (typically not my strong suit) and colours. Enjoy!
Meet Yassmeen, studying Communications. Perfectly layered for fall and on trend with a combination of studded Steve Maddens and leather. Looking great!
Style moment with Hannah, 3rd year Multimedia and Design student! Bird print dress with a woven brown leather belt, looks great!
Outdoor shoot with the lovely Hannah!
Style with Lauren, studying Biotechnology. Pearls and a simple white button down with a black tank bring back the classic black and white look, and look especially amazing with a flattering short hair style!
Shoot with the amazing Jessica on an beauitful sunny day!
Absolutely gorgeous day with the lovely Sydney! Out in Alberta’s canola fields for the shoot, it couldn’t have been better.
